2023 Jeep Wrangler Overview

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe does have a higher MSRP than the 2023 Jeep Wrangler. It’s also important to note that the 4xe is only available with certain trim levels. With the standard Wrangler, you have the option of the Sport and its many variants, such as the Sport S, Willys and Freedom Edition. The base 4xe is the Willys 4xe, and it’s equipped like the standard Sport plus all of the extras added by the variants minus trim-specific details. Beyond this point, the trims are the same for the most part, including the Sahara, which is a more upscale trim, and the Rubicon, which is an off-road-oriented trim.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is available in either a two-door configuration, which is the classic Wrangler, or a four-door configuration known as the Unlimited. The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is offered exclusively with the Unlimited body style. The base Wrangler comes standard with steel wheels but aluminum wheels beyond that point. The 4xe has aluminum wheels from the jump, and 20-inch wheels are available. There is a range of hardtops and soft tops for both models and other exterior enhancements, but note that the special editions, such as the Far Out Edition, are generally specific to the particular model.

Jeep Wrangler Mechanical specs

The standard engine for the Wrangler is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. You also have the option of a turbo four-cylinder that sacrifices some horsepower for more torque and better fuel efficiency. The 4xe hybrid powertrain has the same eight-speed automatic transmission and turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the standard model, but the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe also has dual electric motors and a battery pack, and all of that combines for an impressive 375 hp and 470 lb.-ft. This is the most fuel-efficient setup that Jeep offers for the Wrangler, and it even allows for 49 miles of all-electric range.

In both cases, a 7-inch touch screen is standard, and an 8.4-inch touch screen is included beyond the base trim level. In order to keep the MSRP as low as possible, Jeep does not include advanced driver assists as standard equipment. They’re optional so that you only pay for what you actually want and will use. These options are the same for the most part and include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking sensors. A rearview camera system, however, is standard in both cases.
